Indonesia has a culinary wealth in the form of warm drinks made from various types of rhizomes and spices. In addition to being delicious, these drinks can relieve various health problems, such as colds, headaches, stomachaches, flu, and muscle pain. Some of these types of drinks include the following.

1. Ginger Wedang

Ginger wedang is made from fresh ginger rhizomes that are crushed. Wash about 100 grams of fresh ginger and then crush it. Prepare about 500 ml of clean water in a pan. Put the ginger, pandan, and 50 grams of palm sugar into the pan. Boil the water for about 20 minutes. Strain the boiled ginger and drink the water while it is warm.

This drink can warm the body when the air is cold, reduce headaches, and relieve pain in menstrual sufferers.

2. Bajigur

Bajigur is made from palm sugar or coconut sugar mixed with coconut milk and pandan leaves. How to make it is very easy. Prepare 500 ml of water in a pan, add approximately 150 grams of palm sugar or coconut sugar and a pandan leaf. Boil the water until the sugar dissolves. While waiting for the sugar to dissolve, prepare coconut milk from ½ coconut or you can also use instant coconut milk.

After the water boils and the sugar dissolves, reduce the heat of the stove and add the coconut milk. Stir the coconut milk while continuing to cook, approximately 10 minutes. Stirring serves to prevent the coconut milk from curdling.

Serve bajigur warm in the afternoon or when the air is cold. In addition, we can also add palm fruit to the bajigur. This drink can be consumed with traditional snacks, such as boiled cassava, boiled peanuts, or boiled sweet potatoes.
